Vintage Sappharine Saphiret Glass Necklace & Earrings Set
A lovely necklace & earrings set dating to the Mid Century period set with lovely sappharine stones.
Although little is known about sappharine I believe it is a later version of saphiret produced by German manufacturers using colourful foil backed glass made to emulate the original colours of saphiret.
The necklace features domed sappharine stones that hang from a purple paste set chain with an adjustable hook clasp.
The earrings are set with slightly more vibrant sappharine stones with matching purple glass accents and secure clip backs.
The clip backs feature little hearts which can also be found on many pieces of German manufactured costume jewellery.
Condition
There is a tiny patch of wear to the foil backing of one of the earrings. The set remains in good vintage condition overall
