Vintage Mid Century French Blue Gripoix Glass Bead Necklace

A beautiful Mid Century statement necklace featuring an ornate gold metal panel set with blue gripoix glass detailing. The central panel features various shades of blue glass that complement the gold frame detailing so well.

The centrepiece is attached to a beaded gold metal chain, finished with a secure screw barrel clasp that I think has been added at a later date.

The necklace is most likely by Maison Gripoix. The beads feature twisted ends and are strung in a similar fashion to Chanel pieces but I remain unsure of the necklaces exact provenance. It's a beauty regardless.

There are two gripoix pieces at the base of the central panel that are missing their tops. Each piece of glass is smooth so I think this may have been done during manufacture. The wear is seen best in picture four. The necklace remains in lovely condition overall.
