Antique Victorian Snake Floral Mourning Pendant Brooch
A beautiful symbolic antique mourning pendant / brooch dating to the Victorian period.
The pendant features an intricate floral motif on black glass with the unusual inclusion of morning glory amongst more traditional roses and foliage.
The black glass panel is framed by a pinchbeck gold ouroboros snake set with a glass cabochon detailing.
So much symbolism packed into one piece!
The piece features a secure hook 'C' clasp and has had a new 9ct gold hooked top fitted with a gold plated bale attached.
Condition
There is some age related wear to the gold frame of the snake and also some light surface wear to the black glass panel.
The piece remains in good antique condition overall.
