A wonderful pair of silver paste earrings in a Victorian inspired design. The earrings are set with large emerald green glass stones known as 'Lazarus paste'. Harold A Lazarus was a London based jeweller who created this signature stone featuring inclusions within glass to emulate emeralds. Lazarus created pieces for a short period of time in the first half of the twentieth century and was heavily influenced by Georgian and Victorian design. The earrings are on unmarked silver with gold pierced hooks.
Lazarus's work is briefly spoken about in the book Antique Paste Jewellery by M.D.S Lewis.
The earrings are in good antique condition.
