A wonderful, chunky antique gold plated fob dating to the early Victorian period.
Whilst the centrepiece of these fobs tends to be the wax seal they contain, with this piece it is the frame itself which is embossed with tiny fossils and shells.
The fob features a plain bloodstone seal and remains on its original large gold plated split ring.
A lovely celebration of early paleontology in England during the 19th Century.
Condition
There is some light surface wear to the bloodstone which has been pictured. The fob remains in good antique condition overall.
