Antique Victorian Bressan Enamel Jewel Toned Paste Panel Necklace
This product is sold out.

A wonderful antique Victorian necklace featuring beautiful Bressan enamel (emaux bressans) pieces. Bressan enamel was created exclusively in the town of Bourg-en-Bresse, France in the late 19th century by highly skilled enamellers who would create intricate jewel toned pieces using layers of enamel drops and gold leaf. The pieces would then be exported to jewellers around Europe (particularly Paris) to be used in their creations.
This necklace has a clear Austro-Hungarian influence to it with lovely blue enamel flowers linking each decorative panel with an incredibly ornate drop at the centre of the chain. The necklace is finished with a fabulous hook clasp set with matching bressan enamel pieces. The necklace is on a base metal with a silver tone wash.
Condition
There is some light wear to some of the enamel panels, all of which can be seen in the pictures. The necklace is in good antique condition overall.
