A beautiful antique silver locket dating to the Victorian Aesthetic Movement.
The locket features a dotted silver frame typical of this period with an engraved front depicting a bird amongst the reeds with a little Lilly pad perched in a pond.
The reverse of the locket is engraved 'Mum, From John & Daphne, 29th April 1944'. The locket opens to reveal a double frame.
The locket is not hallmarked but tests as sterling silver and features a large silver bale.
There is some light surface wear to the silver in places. The locket remains in good antique condition overall.
