A wonderful Victorian French masquerade brooch with a secret hidden portrait on the reverse.
The brooch features a beautiful enamel portrait of a masked lady with marcasite eyes.
The portrait is framed by an ornate silver bow design studded with rock crystal stones.
The reverse of the brooch features a rather incredible engraved mother of pearl panel depicting a portrait of a woman revealing her breasts.
The brooch features a gold hook clasp stamped with a French gold assay mark of an eagle head. The main frame of the brooch is unmarked silver.
There is a small patch of damage to the enamel portrait where part of her hair is missing. The brooch remains good antique condition overall.
