A rare and wonderful rebus fob featuring an onyx intaglio engraved with an eye and an ear with the french phrase 'Et Se Taire' written underneath.
I belive this represents to 'see, hear and be silent', or 'see, hear and shut up' for a more direct translation.
The onyx seal is set into an ornate gold base metal casing with a round hooked top.
The top of the metal fob leans slightly inwards which can be seen in photo five. The fob remains in good antique condition overall.
