An exceptional antique Jugendstil silver brooch by Pforzheim based jeweller Karl Hermann.
The beautifully stylised brooch features panels of striped blue enamel with vibrant garnet cabochons at the base of the silver frame.
The brooch features a secure hook clasp and is marked with the silver grade '900'. There is also a tiny cartouche stamped on the clasp pin.
A similar brooch is featured in the book 'Schmuck in Deutschland und Osterreich 1895-1914, Ulrike von Hase'.
There is some damage to the enamel which can be seen clearly in each picture.
The wear does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece and the brooch remains in good antique condition overall.
