A fabulous pansy brooch that I believe to be Victorian with a heavy Georgian influence to the design. The brooch set with faceted purple and yellow glass stones made to look like amethysts and citrines. As shown in picture 5 this is a costume version of the fine jewellery pansies that were made at the time and would have been very treasured regardless of materials used. The brooch is finished with a secure hook clasp.
The central faux pearl is definitely not original and looks to be quite modern in age, however it compliments the brooch well. The brooch itself is in good antique condition overall.
