Antique Victorian Silver Mizpah Ring

£175.00

A charming antique silver ring dating to 1896 engraved with the phrase 'MIZPAH' in a symbloic twisted design separating the word.

The word Mizpah, from the Hebrew for “watchtower,” comes from a Bible verse meaning “The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another”.

Mizpah jewellery was traditionally gifted to loved ones who must be apart. It symbolizes a bond of love, friendship, and faith that distance cannot break.

The ring is fully hallmarked on the inside band with the date letter 'M' and makers mark 'P&T' most likely for Pearce & Thompson.

The ring is in good antique condition.
