Antique Austro Hungarian Silver Opal Necklace

Now Sold

An incredible piece of Austro Hungarian jewellery dating to the late 19th Century.

The necklace is set with beautiful foil backed Hungarian opals and little blue glass cabochons.

The main panel of the necklace features black enamel detailing with flowers and leaves framing all of the beautiful stones.

The chain of the necklace is equally as detailed with tiny silver flowers and bezel set opals. The necklace is finished with a beautiful push clasp with a matching opal stone.

One of the smaller opals framing the large opal at the centre of the necklace is cracked but remains secure in its setting (please see picture 7).

There is some age related wear to the gold gilt. The necklace remains in good antique condition overall.
