A lovely Georgian Halley's Comet piece that has been converted from a broken brooch into a pendant that can be worn in a variety of ways.
The original brooch was created to commemorate the sighting of Halley's Comet in 1835. It is made from unmarked 9 carat gold and features two beautiful foiled flat cut garnet stones.
The comet has had two gold hooks added to enable it to be worn on any chain desired and it can be worn as both a necklace or bracelet.
If you would like the piece to be added to a chain this can be done for a small extra cost. Please leave a note on the order to discuss.
There is some light indentations to the gold where the original brooch was damaged. There is also some crumpling to the foil that sits underneath the garnet stone.
The pendant remains in good antique condition overall.
